Background
Janice Lachman is a graduate of Syracuse University with a BFA in Textile Design. Directly after graduation,
she was awarded a Fulbright Research Scholarship in Textile Design to Sri Lanka, and spent the next two years
in Southeast Asia.
Ms. Lachman worked in the decorative fabric industry in New York City for Tressard
Fabrics, Ratti, Spa., Scalamandre and J.P. Stevens. She also had her own licensing
business for her textile and wallpaper designs.
She has resided in Virginia since 1992 and opened her interior design business in 1993.
Her design philosophy has always encompassed the ability to elevate her client's homes to a high level
of taste and sophistication, while at the same time being sensitive to their needs and desires.
She feels it is important to be a good listener and to have the ability to be
patient and understanding with people
while incorporating her ideas.
As a creative person, she's received the deepest satisfaction upon viewing the happiness on a client's
face during and after completion of the project.
